Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer to automate deployments and maintain on‑prem and cloud infrastructure.

You’ll deploy scalable services and drive CI/CD improvements across environments for a secure, compliant production ecosystem. The role requires 8+ years of hands‑on DevOps experience, strong scripting skills in Python or Shell, and expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and GitLab.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of DevOps or SRE experience in cloud environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift in production.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
• Proficiency in Python or shell scripting for automation.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud infrastructure and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Automate and optimize service deployments
• Architect, build and maintain on‑prem and cloud infrastructure
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Ensure security, monitoring, and logging across environments
• Provide on-call support and incident response as needed
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in SAFe/Agile settings
• Lead operational readiness and maintain documentation
