Job summary

Byte Systems, a VTG subsidiary, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Herndon, VA to design CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments across on‑prem and AWS environments. You will develop Jenkins-based workflows, manage Terraform scripts, and troubleshoot deployment issues in OpenShift containers.

The ideal candidate has strong Linux, scripting (Bash/Python), and OpenShift experience, plus DoD IAT II certification or TS/SCI poly. This is an on-site role with VTG’s competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 7+ years.
• PhD with 4+ years may substitute for degree.
• Experience with Linux environments.
• Scripting in Bash and Python.
• OpenShift or similar container environments.
• DoD IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE, CISSP, etc.).
• TS/ SCI CI poly

Responsibilities

• Develop CI/CD build and deployment pipelines.
• Integrate tools into pipelines and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to automate installations.
• Monitor services and write scripts for operational visibility.
