Job summary

Phoenix Ops Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support cloud infrastructure and containerized environments in a mission-focused setting. The role emphasizes AWS, EKS, Terraform, Ansible, and Linux system administration.

The position requires TS/SCI clearance, on-site work at Fort Belvoir, and collaboration with software teams to automate, monitor, and scale critical systems.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship required due to security clearance requirements.
• 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's, 7+ with a Master's, or 13+ with a high school diploma.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience deploying and managing apps, containers, and Linux systems.
• Programming or scripting experience using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience with Git and modern development/deployment tools.
• Strong Linux admin and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of Agile software development practices.
• Current DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification (Security+ or equivalent) or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Ability to work onsite at Fort Belvoir, VA five days per week and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS, focusing on EKS.
• Support on‑premises, edge, and portable infrastructure environments.
• Improve automated deployment processes for reliability and efficiency.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based containers.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate apps into cloud and infrastructure.
• Monitor production systems and perform troubleshooting and remediation.
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code and config-management using Terraform and Ansible.
• Support CI/CD and automated software deployment processes.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems.
• Develop automation and tooling using Python, Bash, or Go.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support additional mission requirements as they evolve.
