Job summary

Phoenix Operations Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a mission-focused technical environment in JBSA-Lackland, TX. This role emphasizes cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, automation, CI/CD, and Linux-based systems.

You will work with AWS, Kubernetes, IaC tools, scripting, and modern DevOps practices to build, deploy, monitor, and maintain scalable infrastructure. Collaboration with software teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required due to security clearance requirements.
• 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's or 7+ with a master's; 13+ years with a high school diploma.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration technologies.
• Hands-on AWS experience including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3 and Lambda.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting applications, containers, and Linux systems.
• Programming or scripting in Python, Bash, Go, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure within AWS, focusing on EKS.
• Support on-premises, edge, and portable infrastructure environments.
• Build and improve automated deployment processes for reliability and scalability.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based container environments.
• Collaborate with software teams to integrate applications into cloud environments.
• Monitor production systems and perform troubleshooting and remediation.
• Develop and maintain IaC and configuration-management solutions (Terraform, Ansible).
• Support CI/CD and automated software deployment processes.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems.
• Develop automation tooling using Python, Bash, or Go.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support mission needs with additional technical and operational requirements.
