Job summary

Phoenix Operations Group is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support an AWS-based, containerized, mission-focused environment at Fort Meade, MD. You will build, deploy, automate, monitor, and maintain scalable infrastructure in collaboration with software teams.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, strong Linux administration, and hands-on experience with EKS, Terraform, and Ansible. Onsite work five days a week with opportunities to influence mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance required or ability to obtain.
• U.S. citizenship required due to clearance requirements.
• 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's, or 7+ with a master's, or 13+ with a high school diploma.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration.
• Hands-on AWS experience including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda.
• IaC and configuration-management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting apps, containers, and Linux systems.
• Programming or scripting in Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
• Git and modern devops tools; strong Linux administration and Agile practices.
• DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification or ability to obtain.
• Onsite work at Fort Meade, MD five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS with focus on EKS.
• Support on-premises, edge, and portable infrastructure environments.
• Automate deployment processes for reliability and scalability.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based environments.
• Integrate applications into cloud and infrastructure environments.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot performance/availability issues.
• Maintain IaC and configuration-management using Terraform and Ansible.
• Support CI/CD and automated software deployment.
• Administer Linux-based systems and troubleshoot.
• Build automation tooling with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Evaluate emerging tech and recommend improvements.
• Support other technical requirements as mission needs evolve.
