Job summary

Venatre seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to strengthen software delivery through automation, IaC, and collaboration between development and operations teams. This full-time role is based onsite in Springfield, VA or St.

Louis, MO at the client location within a SCIF, with active TSSCI clearance and CI Polygraph required. You will configure CI/CD pipelines, automate builds/deployments, manage IaC/configuration, and enhance observability, security, and incident response across cloud and on-prem

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field; two additional years of IT experience may substitute for degree.
• 6 years of directly related professional experience.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with CICD pipeline technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI or similar platforms.
• Experience with ArgoCD and GitOps style operations management.
• Knowledge of OIDC/OAuth/OAuth 2.0 or similar zero trust identity implementations.
• Experience managing web server technologies including DNS and certificate management.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools (Terraform, OpenShift, AWS CDK, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, networking and security for containerized environments.
• Experience deploying and managing databases and interacting with databases using SQL/ORMs.
• Ability to develop tooling with Python and Bash.
• One or more relevant technical certifications such as Network Security or CISSP.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain CICD pipelines for multiple web applications.
• Perform application builds using source code and dependencies.
• Implement automated testing and security scanning throughout deployment workflows.
• Deploy applications across development, staging and production environments.
• Support GitOps style operations management using ArgoCD.
• Develop and maintain IaC and configuration management solutions.
• Author Helm charts to deploy resources within OpenShift environments.
• Develop system architecture diagrams and support strategic system planning.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on system characteristics affecting software performance.
• Manage security monitoring, observability, and incident response capabilities.
