Job summary

Ad Hoc LLC seeks a seasoned DevOps Engineer to drive cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and governance for government-focused digital services. You will collaborate across teams to streamline tooling, implement scalable deployments, and ensure security/compliance in federal environments.

You will work remotely with a nationwide team, contributing to modern DevOps practices and platform experiences that support critical public-sector projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on production experience with AWS as a primary cloud provider.
• Working proficiency with Kubernetes (EKS or equivalent).
• Proficient with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment (shell scripting, systemd, networking basics)
• Background in core DevOps concepts: containerization, virtualization, networking, load balancing/reverse proxies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• U.S. citizenship or current legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Exhibits influential skills to collaborate across teams to consolidate and simplify DevOps tools and services.
• Solves problems to achieve simplicity of architecture and operations.
• Completes cloud infrastructure and automated deployment tasks under guidance of a senior engineer.
• Builds libraries, modules, and packages for other infra engineers to reuse.
• Creates cloud infrastructure to support applications and improves developer experience.
• Supports CI/CD processes to deliver higher quality software faster.
• Integrates tools to meet security, quality, and performance requirements.
• Builds application test and deployment pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab CI.
• Partners with government teams to ensure security, SLA, and performance compliance.
