Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. You will mentor the DevOps team while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across our deployment environments.

The candidate will drive best-practice adoption, collaborate with development, QA, product, and security teams, and work within an Agile framework to rapidly deliver operational capabilities to the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or related role.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience may be required.
• Experience with microservices, containerization, and cloud-native development.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or Openshift and related container platforms.
• Experience with multiple cloud vendors and managed Kubernetes services (AKS, EKS).
• Experience with developer tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Strong Linux background and release engineering/CI/CD knowledge.
• Agile experience in Scrum/Kanban; strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and config management for consistent environments.
• Standardize deployment workflows for repeatable releases across product/customer needs.
• Monitor and improve system performance and reliability in distributed systems.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to align deployment with security and architecture goals.
• Drive improvements by evaluating new technologies and documenting best practices for deployment and release operations.
• Work as part of an Agile team to deliver operational capabilities to the field.
