Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure across hybrid environments. You will mentor the DevOps team, implement best practices, and ensure secure, scalable deployments for complex programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with software, QA, and security teams in a fast-paced DoD/ISR context, with a strong focus on reliability and repeatable release processes. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or related role.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Experience with microservices, containerization, and cloud-native apps.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes and Openshift.
• Experience with multiple cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Strong Linux, release engineering, and CI/CD fundamentals.
• Strong Agile experience in Scrum/Kanban.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on large/small teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management for consistent environments.
• Optimize deployment workflows for repeatable releases with varying requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance in distributed systems.
• Collaborate with development, QA, product teams to align deployment with security and architectural goals.
• Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and documenting best practices.
• Work as part of an Agile team to deliver operational capabilities for the field.
