Job summary

AltexSoft is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build a greenfield, multi-brand platform for OTA logistics. You will create a robust GCP foundation with Terraform, deploy GKE clusters, and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines for a multi-service monorepo.

You will enable Argo CD, establish observability via OpenTelemetry and Elastic APM, and push AI-enabled automation across the DevOps lifecycle. Remote work is possible; the role emphasizes strong English communication, proactive issue

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with GKE / Kubernetes and Cloud SQL Memorystore Pub/Sub Secret Manager.
• Strong Terraform experience and hands-on Infrastructure as Code expertise.
• Experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines for multi-service or monorepo-based apps.
• Hands-on Kubernetes administration and operations.
• Experience with Argo CD and GitOps.
• Experience with observability solutions: OpenTelemetry and Elastic APM.
• Experience with SonarQube, quality gates, and security/dependency scanning.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, deployment strategies, infrastructure security, and cloud networking.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in DevOps workflows.
• Experience building DevOps for greenfield projects from scratch.
• Ability to investigate issues, make infrastructure decisions, and communicate trade-offs.
• Strong spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the GCP cloud foundation and landing zone using Terraform.
• Provision GCP services: GKE, Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, Memorystore, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, Artifact Registry, Cloud Storage.
• Design standardized GitLab CI/CD pipelines for a multi-service monorepo with reusable templates.
• Set up dev → stage → production deployment and promotion flows.
• Implement Argo CD and Argo Rollouts integrated with GitLab CI.
• Configure Kubernetes: ingress, node pools, and Workload Identity Federation.
• Set up NGINX Ingress and observability pipeline (OpenTelemetry → Elastic APM).
• Configure SonarQube gates, security/dependency scanning, and CI/CD integrations.
• Deploy and support .NET 10 / ASP.NET Core microservices.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to boost productivity and automate tasks.
• Contribute to platform decisions: messaging, SonarQube, GitLab licensing, load-testing sizing.
• Establish DevOps best practices for a scalable, secure platform.
