Job summary

BNY Mellon is seeking a Vice President of DevOps / Application Infrastructure Backend Engineer to join the Structured Debt Client Platform in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on middleware, cloud infrastructure, container platforms, and production workloads with a strong emphasis on Java apps in AWS and Kubernetes environments.

You will administer middleware, deploy Kuberenetes workloads with Helm, implement CI/CD pipelines, and manage Terraform/Ansible-based infrastructure while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5–9 years of relevant work experience.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.
• Production experience with Amazon EKS.
• Experience deploying Kubernetes apps with Helm and GitOps.
• Kubernetes secrets management and multi-environment deployments.
• Container image optimization and security practices.
• Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
• DevOps, middleware administration, or cloud engineering background.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support middleware and app workloads (Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, Java/Spring Boot, Angular).
• Manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, ALB/NLB, VPCs, subnets, security groups, EKS).
• Build/deploy containerized apps using Docker/Kubernetes; manage Dockerfiles/images.
