Job summary

BNY Mellon seeks a Vice President, Mainframe Engineer to join the Foundational Frameworks team in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL. You will develop, maintain, and optimize mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SAS, and VSAM, and lead CMOD-based processes across environments.

The role involves participating in DevOps initiatives (GitLab, CI/CD), application monitoring, upgrades, and on-call support to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance within a complex financial services context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience supporting mainframe applications.
• Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and SAS.
• Experience with batch processing and mainframe DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD or other source control tools.
• Knowledge of CMOD architecture and administration.
• Linux/Unix administration; SQL and relational databases (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server).

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SAS, and VSAM.
• Participate in mainframe DevOps initiatives (GitLab, CI/CD, automated testing).
• Administer and maintain IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) environments across development, testing, and production.
• Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and availability.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and configuration management.
• Manage CMOD object servers, library servers, cache storage, and archival processes.
• Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents and service requests.
