BNY Mellon seeks a Vice President, Software Engineer - AI & Cloud Platforms in Pittsburgh, PA to lead end-to-end software strategy across core banking, AI automation, and digital onboarding. You will design scalable, secure applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST/JSON, and cloud platforms, while mentoring teams and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
• 9+ years of experience in software development, proficiency in Java and front-end UI technologies.
• Experience in securities/financial services is a plus.
• Proven experience architecting/delivering scalable AI-powered solutions (NLP, predictive modeling, recommender systems).
• SOA/API-based development using Java (17+), Spring Boot, Microservices, REST/JSON.
• Real-time data processing and event-driven architectures; Apache Kafka.
• Database development with Oracle or MS SQL Server.
• Automating CI/CD pipelines on large-scale container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Unit/end-to-end automated test experiences; JMeter performance tests; Test-Driven Development.
• UI development with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and Angular.
• GIT source control; Agile methodologies; Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end software development strategy across core banking and AI-based automation.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performing applications across private/public/on-prem cloud.
• Mentor senior engineering teams and shape best practices for platform development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop scalable full-stack solutions aligned with business goals.
• Ensure compliance with delivery and regulatory standards and integrate components into a complete system.
