Job summary

BNY seeks a Director, DevOps / Full-Stack Engineer to join the Markets Engineering team in Lake Mary, FL. This role balances 50% hands-on development with 50% cloud and platform leadership, delivering resilient, scalable cloud-hosted solutions.

You will own end-to-end technical delivery, partner across engineering and security teams, and drive DevOps practices, CI/CD, observability, and platform modernization to support business-critical services.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in computer science or equivalent
• 12+ years in systems analysis and program development with supervisory experience
• Extensive hands-on full stack engineering with Java, SQL, Angular
• Deep knowledge of cloud-hosted solutions and enterprise cloud environments
• Strong DevOps practices: CI/CD, infra automation, observability, production support

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior hands-on engineer contributing to design, coding, and modernization
• Develop full stack solutions using Java, SQL, and Angular with AI-assisted tooling
• Translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Own target-state architecture for cloud-hosted service and platform components
• Define cloud-native components and platform services to modernize stack and improve reliability
• Lead sizing, scaling, capacity planning, and performance optimization
• Establish and refine CI/CD, infrastructure automation, environment management, and release controls
• Collaborate with cloud providers and internal teams on architecture, security, governance and operations
• Drive a DevOps culture with ownership of build, deployment, monitoring, and incident readiness
• Improve platform observability through metrics, logging, and health monitoring
• Champion reliability engineering principles including DR and high availability
