Job summary

The Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) is seeking a Senior Development Manager to advance engagement and stewardship of corporate, foundation, and individual donors. The role reports to the VP of Development and Finance and works with the President and Leadership Team.

Responsibilities include identifying prospects, building partnerships, managing donor portfolios, drafting fundraising materials, and coordinating events such as Earth Night.

Qualifications

• Build trust, confidence, and effective collaboration with key partners through in-person meetings, events and effective communication
• Create, document and track progress on stewardship plans for high priority corporate, foundation and individual partners
• Draft and/or edit reports for foundation partners and individuals
• Manage engagement and stewardship of ELM Corporate Council members and Earth Night sponsors
• Develop and implement an engagement and stewardship program for middle donors, loyal donors and recurring donors
• Draft fundraising materials including email updates, donor engagement materials, proposals, reports, acknowledgement letters, and appeals
• Draft or advise on talking points for events and meetings
• Develop robust understanding of program and policy goals to articulate organizational value to current and prospective partners
• Ensure timely submission of funder proposals and reports
• Assist in preparation and tracking of proposal budgets and financial reports
• Advise and assist in planning and execution of events

The Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) and the ELM Action Fund (ELM AF) advocate for policy and build political power in Massachusetts to meet the scale and urgency of our environmental challenges. Read our purpose, mission, vision, and values for ELM and the ELM Action Fund.

We seek a Senior Development Manager to drive engagement and stewardship of corporate and foundation partners and individual donors. The Senior Manager will report to the VP of Development and Finance and work closely with all staff members including the President and Leadership Team members.

Compensation & Benefits

$85,000-100,000, depending on experience. ELM provides 6 weeks paid time off per year in addition to holidays and the days between Christmas and New Years, health and dental insurance, a Health Savings Account, and a 403(b) retirement plan with an organizational match.

This full-time role requires occasional morning and evening commitments outside of the standard 9-5 office hours. The position is based in Boston, MA and will require periodic travel within Massachusetts. ELM supports a hybrid work environment and expects employees to work from the downtown Boston office at least 2-3 days per week.
