Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring an Associate VP, Development in Chicago to drive fundraising and sponsorship efforts for the Go Red for Women campaign. You will lead a small team, coach staff, recruit executive volunteers, and secure platform sponsorships while shaping a strong revenue plan for the event.

You will collaborate with communications to promote the event and manage donor relationships using CRM and Microsoft tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.
• 3+ year of experience in a management capacity. This experience may substitute for the requirement.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct coaching and supervision to two Development Directors and indirect coaching and supervision to one Development Coordinator.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership.
• Prospect and secure platform corporate sponsorships.
• Develop profiles on the top businesses within the area with a documented plan to secure their involvement.
• Support Development staff in executing event logistics based on national best practices.
• Work closely with a Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the event.
• Manage and maintain accurate volunteer and supporter information within our CRM system and Microsoft platforms.
