Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring a Development Director in Cedar Rapids to lead fundraising for Go Red for Women and Impact campaigns, including major events. You will recruit volunteers, cultivate individual donors, secure sponsorships, and drive revenue through strategic donor relations.

This full-time, field-based role offers a hybrid schedule, a base salary with incentives up to 25% of base pay, and access to the organization’s training resources and support networks.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience
• University/College degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to travel locally up to 70% and some overnight trips
• Ability to lift/move objects as needed
• Must have basic knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
• Drive peer-to-peer fundraising to achieve revenue goals and document results.
• Recruit, engage, and recognize volunteers for fundraising campaigns.
• Build partnerships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Identify key donors and volunteers and collaborate with staff to broaden the network and impact.
