Job summary

The American Heart Association, Inc. in Chicago is hiring an Associate VP, Development to lead a Go Red for Women campaign team. You will coach staff, recruit executives, secure sponsorships and drive donor engagement while coordinating events and communications to achieve revenue targets.

The role offers a base salary with an incentive potential up to 25% based on revenue targets, along with extensive benefits and professional development resources.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a nonprofit organization in a similar capacity.
• 3+ years of experience in a management capacity.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including group presentations, training, and reports.
• Ability to read, comprehend and analyze fundraising numbers and reports; skilled in spreadsheet/database analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct coaching and supervision to two Development Directors and indirect coaching to one Development Coordinator.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership.
• Prospect and secure platform corporate sponsorships.
• Develop profiles on top area businesses with a documented plan to secure involvement.
• Support Development staff in executing event logistics based on national best practices.
• Work closely with Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the event.
• Manage and maintain accurate volunteer and supporter information in the CRM system and Microsoft platforms.
