SWIFT VA in Virginia seeks a Senior Dev/Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable systems bridging development and operations. You will optimize infrastructure, automate processes, and drive continuous improvement across critical applications.

The role requires 7+ years in Dev/Systems or SRE, strong programming skills (Python/Go/Java), cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, Linux, networking, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in a Dev/Systems Engineering, DevOps, or SRE role.
• Proficiency in Python/Go/Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure across development teams.
• Monitor system performance and optimize bottlenecks for reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, infra, and network layers.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow the team.
• Ensure security best practices are integrated into designs and operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements.
