Job summary

HID is seeking a Senior Development Support Engineer to act as a technical resource for Mercury/HID OEM partners. The role involves diagnosing complex integrations, supporting API deployments, and collaborating with engineering and customer teams to improve the overall experience across hardware, software, and networking domains.

You will help customers with API implementations, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing while working with remote teams across time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to collaborate with remote teams across multiple time zones and countries.
• Proficiency in C/C++, C#, and/or Rust.
• Experience with web technologies and protocols (HTTP, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, MQTT).
• Experience deploying and supporting apps in Linux and Windows.
• Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge.
• Experience with diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, Postman, and curl.
• Knowledge of serial communication (RS-232/RS-485) and SSL/TLS.
• Excellent English communication and technical documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Mercury controllers and HID technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-level technical inquiries related to Mercury and HID products.
• Assist developers with integration and API implementation.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and serial issues.
• Replicate customer-reported issues to locate root causes.
• Log and document defects for engineering review.
• Interface with partners and customers to understand requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and QA to resolve issues.
• Educate partners on deployment and integration best practices.
• Participate in workshops, training sessions, and product demonstrations.
• Support continuous improvement across support and engineering functions.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Contribute technical insights to product enhancements and processes.
• Develop technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.
