Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead architectural designs, build new applications, and modernize existing systems in an Agile environment. You will mentor teammates, review designs, and drive technology choices across microservices and cloud-based deployments.

The role emphasizes scalable architecture, proactive tech evaluation, and collaboration with product owners. You will work with React/Angular front-ends, Java back-ends, and containerized deployments, ensuring alignment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience.
• Knowledge of architecture principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Java, JSP, Servlets, React/Angular, SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with microservices, GraphQL or REST APIs.
• Version control experience with Gitflow and release management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and Agile development.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise architecture guidance.
• Define and evolve the technical vision focusing on microservices and replaceability.
• Evaluate technology choices to align with business strategy.
• Maintain awareness of industry standards and emerging technologies.
• Mentor engineers and QA team members.
• Develop and maintain applications; deprecate obsolete code.
• Automate deployment via CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners on requirements and vision.
• Guide other teams on design and performance issues.
• Publish and evangelize development and data model standards.
