Job summary

GEO Secured Services in Kansas seeks a Transport Officer to securely move detainees between destinations and ensure vehicles are safe and properly maintained.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3 years of law enforcement or corrections experience, 2 years of driving in a transportation capacity, and certification in Corrections or Law Enforcement. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; state requisites for employment.
• Three years of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer with Arrest Authority or Prisoner Handling/detention experience.
• Two years of driving experience in a transportation capacity.
• Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• CDL license or CDL permit preferred; must obtain CDL within six months of hire.
• Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Securely transport detainees between destinations and ensure vehicles are safe and properly maintained.
• Assist management when problems arise during transport and help develop solutions.
• Review vehicle inspection reports and develop summaries for Transportation management.
• Ensure all permits and licenses for vehicles are in order.
• Ensure vehicles have necessary safety equipment and report issues to Transportation management.
• Track DOT Hours of Service on Electronic Logging Devices.
• Participate in interviewing and screening of Transport Officers.
• Review paperwork and submit reports to Transportation management as required.
• Ensure missions meet or exceed safety measures.
