Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Transport Officer to securely move detainees between destinations and ensure vehicles are maintained and compliant. The role requires coordinating with Transportation management and upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates have leadership experience, a valid driving record, and a CDL-appropriate certification; willingness to travel and work extended hours is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 3+ years of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer or Prisoner Handling experience.
• Two years of driving experience in a transportation capacity.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• CDL driver's license or CDL permit preferred; must obtain within six months.
• Pass a company and DOT drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting detainees between destinations.
• Reviewing vehicle inspection reports and summaries for Transportation management.
• Ensuring vehicle permits and licenses are in order.
• Ensuring safety equipment is present before trips and reporting problems.
• Tracking DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.
• Participating in interviewing and screening Transport Officers.
• Ensuring missions meet safety measures.
