Job summary

Referment is partnering with a leading hedge fund in New York to appoint a Senior Desktop/Workplace Engineer. You will be the most senior on-site escalation point, owning complex technology problems across endpoints, identity, connectivity and trading applications for front-office users.

The role requires seven+ years in desktop/workplace engineering, strong MSP coordination, and PowerShell scripting. You’ll collaborate with Network, Security and Cloud teams to deliver durable, scalable

Qualifications

At least 7 years of experience in desktop/workplace/end-user or systems engineering.
Experience at Tier 3 or senior escalation level.

Responsibilities

Act as the senior technology escalation point for the New York office.
Provide expert support to portfolio managers, analysts, traders and senior corporate users.
Resolve complex issues spanning endpoints, applications, identity, connectivity and workplace technology.
Oversee the MSP’s day-to-day delivery and ensure issues are handled to the expected standard.
Coordinate vendors, the MSP and internal technology teams until problems are resolved.
Develop automation using PowerShell and contribute to repeatable workplace engineering.
Create and improve runbooks, knowledge articles and escalation criteria.
Identify recurring problems and address root causes rather than symptoms.
