Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Sr. Designer to lead our design team and deliver consultative design services that build lasting customer relationships and brand loyalty.

The role involves meeting with customers, understanding project needs, education on requirements, and crafting design concepts that reflect clients’ style, budget, and lifestyle. You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, collaborating with store leadership to drive sales and provide excellent design guidance across tile,

Qualifications

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) or 6 years interior design experience in lieu of education.
• Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years.
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience as Floor & Decor Designer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers.
• Greet customers and assist with design walk-ins.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele via networking and referrals.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accurate, timely communication and follow-up.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives and design trends in the market.
• Utilize design applications and participate in local professional affiliations.
