Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, seeks an Underwriter to manage existing and new business within a defined territory. You will build strong broker relationships, support the design professional platform and contribute to the company’s financial plan.

You will interact with insureds, brokers and producers to service accounts, mentor staff, and deliver risk management education while ensuring high service standards and audit compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Moderate commercial insurance experience (underwriting, claims, or risk management).
• Analytical, risk assessment, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to build insured and broker contacts.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business in assigned territory and support financial plan goals.
• Develop and service broker relationships within the distribution model.
• Collaborate with Underwriting Manager to advance the AXA XL Design Professional Platform.
• Interact with insureds, brokers and producers to service accounts.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with audit guidelines.
• Deliver risk management education and contract reviews as needed.
• Meet brokers and customers to develop relationships and target growth.
