AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, seeks a Senior Underwriter for the Design Professional West Region in San Francisco. You will underwrite complex professional liability risks, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with brokers and management to drive profitability and service excellence.

Responsibilities include new and renewal underwriting, broker relationship management, contract reviews, and delivering educational programs. Travel up to 20% to meet clients and brokers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Moderate commercial insurance experience.
• Robust analytical, risk assessment, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
• Ability to mentor and train staff.

Responsabilités

• Underwriting both new and renewal business within assigned territory.
• Developing, maintaining, and servicing broker relationships within the distribution model.
• Working with the Underwriting Manager within the assigned zone in furthering the AXAXL Design Professional Platform and achieving the business’ financial plan.
• Interacting directly with insureds, brokers and producers to service accounts.
• Working collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants, and management team. Training newer staff members, acting as a mentor.
• Developing technical knowledge of design professional risk management to act as a resource on our product including ability to deliver educational programs, contract reviews, assist with policy coverage evaluations.
• Ensuring high quality service standards and compliance with all internal audit guidelines.
• Acting as a representative of the company and our agents by attending internal/external company functions, agent sponsored and industry events.
• Meet with brokers and set annual targets, issue monthly status reports, monitor P&L against plan.
• Take initiative and proactively support brokers and market interactions which support growth.
