Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Principal Design Quality Engineer for our El Segundo, CA site. The role embeds quality throughout the engineering lifecycle to prevent defects, ensuring program success and adherence to cost, schedule, and technical goals.

Travel to Fullerton may be required and a current SECRET clearance is required. The role emphasizes collaboration with program quality teams, customers, and IPTs, with leadership in RCCA, CoQ projects, and design quality estimates

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Active/ability to obtain final SECRET security clearance prior to start date.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102) and RCCA.
• Experience overseeing RCCA, corrective and preventative actions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to site, business, and contractual requirements.
• Align engineering with policies and procedures across development life cycle, software and system test validation.
• Release verification through configuration management.
• Interface with program quality teams, customers, and IPTs to drive technical quality and cost performance.
• Conduct product and process evaluations and support audits (1st, 2nd, 3rd party).
• Interface with external/internal customers and partners to build strong relationships.
• Work with multiple overlapping programs.
• Ensure inclusion of quality requirements in proposals and manage the quality budget.
• Lead RCCA and FRACAS activities for systemic issues.
• Generate new Cost of Quality (CoQ) projects to reduce costs.
