Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Design Quality Engineer for its Mission Critical Products Portfolio in El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on embedding quality throughout the engineering lifecycle to prevent defects and ensure program success, with onsite work and travel to Fullerton, CA.

The position requires a current active or final SECRET clearance and offers relocation assistance. You will interact with customers and IPTs to drive RCCA, CoQ projects, and cross-functional quality

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Active/ability to obtain final U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
• Working experience overseeing teams in failure and root cause corrective analysis (RCCA).

Responsibilities

• Ensure Compliance to site, business, and contractual requirements.
• Ensure Engineering is aligned with policies and procedures throughout the development life cycle.
• Software and System Test Validation Release Verification through configuration management.
• Interface with the program quality teams, customers, and Integrated Product Teams, facilitating technical quality and financial performance.
• Complete Product and Process Evaluations.
• Support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Party Audits.
