Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) seeks a Senior Design Manager to lead end-to-end design across client portfolios, collaborating with executives, architects, and project teams. This on-site role is based at the client’s Salt Lake City headquarters, requiring 3+ days per week on site in Utah.

You will guide design concepts, manage teams and external consultants, and ensure solutions align with budget and business goals while delivering high-quality, innovative outcomes.

Qualifications

• Lead design projects from concept to completion.
• Knowledge of design principles, materials, and construction integration.
• Experience managing design teams, consultants, and vendor relationships.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Balance creative vision with budget constraints.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• 10+ years of post-education architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design process, from initial concept through project completion.
• Engage in comprehensive client consultations to understand project requirements, preferences, and business objectives to shape bespoke design concepts.
• Direct and support design teams, evaluate project performance, and manage external consultants and vendors.
• Review detailed design proposals, including mood boards, material selections, color schemes, and furniture layouts, while maintaining alignment with budgetary constraints.
• Collaborate with architects and contractors to integrate design elements into construction.
• Source and liaise with vendors, artisans, and suppliers to identify materials, furnishings, and accessories for each project.
• Apply a strong understanding of design principles, aesthetics, and user experience to every stage.
• Articulate design concepts clearly to executives, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• Maintain awareness of business context, customer needs, market trends and competitive landscape.
