Job summary

JLL is seeking a Design Manager to join our North America practice in Austin, Texas, with on-site responsibilities and a focus on commercial interiors. You will lead multi-project delivery, mentor teams, maintain quality, and drive studio growth while coordinating with brokers, owners, and end users during site visits.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in interior design, strong design management skills, and fluency with CAD/BIM tools, codes, and accessibility standards in Texas.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience on commercial interior design projects.
• Fluent in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office.
• Proficient knowledge of building codes and accessibility guidelines (Texas).
• Strong design fundamentals and ability to catch issues early.
• Excellent client communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams to capture client program requirements and test fits.
• Develop fee proposals and manage project profitability and staffing.
• Be main client contact for design concepts, approvals, and execution.
• Guide team in developing design and technical drawings to scope.
• Mentor team members and foster a collaborative studio culture.
• Maintain financial tracking and support strategic decision-making.
• Participate in new business pursuits and client presentations.
