Job summary

Compass is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the product design team for the consumer experience across compass.com and the Compass mobile app. You will align design strategy with executive stakeholders, manage a multi-disciplinary team, and deliver high-quality, accessible interfaces on web and native platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, or equivalent practical industry experience.
• 8-10+ years of total product/UX design experience.
• 2-4+ years of dedicated people management experience.
• Experience leading design for high-traffic, consumer-facing digital products at scale.
• Experience presenting to Directors, VPs, and C-suite with clarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design vision and execution for consumer touchpoints (web and mobile).
• Drive executive governance and alignment with senior leadership.
• Oversee delivery cadences, resourcing, and milestone tracking across design workstreams.
• Coach a team of product designers and foster career growth.
• Uphold design quality, accessibility, and cross-platform consistency.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics to drive KPIs.
• Collaborate with Design Systems and engineering to implement reusable patterns.
• Lead user research and data-driven iteration to inform design decisions.
• Shape recruiting and contribute to design operations and culture.
