Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Design Engineer (Access) to support WAN/LAN networks and provide design, upgrades, and configuration support to the architecture team. You will serve as SME for WAN/LAN and assist with intra- and inter-net data communications, while delivering tiered support as required.

The role requires office presence at the government site in Chantilly, with 5 days per week and no relocation offered.

Qualifications

• Requires 16 years of combined work history and education.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliance.
• Juniper certifications: JNCIA, JNCIP, JNCIE.
• Experience developing and implementing CAN/LAN and WAN network methodologies.
• Familiar with firewalls and network timing.
• Experience deploying network equipment and engineering documentation.
• Experience with MPLS networks and MPLS VPN services.
• Knowledge of routing and switching protocols; BGP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve MPLS network architecture and services; maintain documentation.
• Develop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs and policies; obtain ATO for new devices.
• Perform lab testing, integration with NMS, and security certification.
• Evaluate new network technologies, solutions and services.
• Document designs with diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, configurations; brief designs.
• Provide technical expertise to Operations engineers; support fault isolation and resolution.
• Configure and troubleshoot QoS to maximize bandwidth usage.
• Support Tier-4 production troubleshooting and conduct pro-active network analysis.
