Job summary

NewGen Technologies has an opening for a Design Engineer (Access) to support the customer’s WAN and LAN networks, providing network design, upgrades and configuration support to the architecture team. Serve as SME in WAN/LAN technologies and vendors, supporting intra- and inter-net data communications and tiered support as needed.

The role includes designing MPLS network architectures, developing secure configurations, performing evaluations, and documenting designs for briefing to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and improving MPLS networks and related services.
• Ability to develop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs and enterprise policies.
• Experience evaluating lab equipment, software, and network services with testing and certification.
• Strong documentation skills including diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, and briefing designs.
• Familiarity with firewalls, network timing, and MPLS VPN services.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve overall MPLS network architecture and services; maintain documentation.
• Develop secure designs compliant with DISA STIGs and obtain ATO for new devices and software.
• Evaluate lab equipment, software, and network services; integrate with NMS and security certification.
• Evaluate new technologies and services for deployment; interpret customer requirements and document designs.
• Provide technical expertise to Operations; support fault isolation and proactive network analysis.
