IDEAL Industries, Inc. seeks a Senior Design Engineer I to develop innovative interconnect and power distribution solutions for the Energy market.

You will provide technical leadership, translate customer requirements into manufacturable products, and guide development from concept through commercialization. You will collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional teams to identify technologies, support design wins, and ensure performance, safety, and cost targets are met throughout the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• 10+ years in design engineering with a strong portfolio of projects.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering or product-development experience in energy/electrification/power distribution markets.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and advanced simulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development from concept through production.
• Apply advanced engineering principles, simulations, and prototyping techniques to develop solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, analyses, and simulations to validate concepts against performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Select materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies to improve performance, reliability, and cost.
• Develop and maintain accurate design documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECNs.
• Collaborate with Product Management to identify technologies and opportunities for Energy market alignment.
• Support customer design-in programs from feasibility through qualification and production launch.
