Job summary

Safran Seats USA in Gainesville, TX, is seeking a Design Engineer 3 - Contractor to join our aircraft seat engineering team. You will coordinate seat and seat component designs, interface with customers and vendors, and support program managers to meet engineering milestones.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering and have 5+ years of related design experience, with proficiency in CATIA V5 or Pro/Engineer, plus strong materials knowledge and clear English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field; 12 years eqv. exp. in lieu of degree.
• Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or related field is accepted.
• 5+ years of related design experience with a Bachelor's; 4+ years with a Master's.

Responsibilities

• Design coordination of seats and seat components.
• Review design specifications and incorporate into product.
• Prepare layouts of overall design tasks including structural and articulation systems.
• Define design standards to maintain commonality with existing product line.
• Prepare drawings for release and review design packages for conformance.
