Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager to lead design/build initiatives from concept through closeout. You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, manage schedules and budgets, ensure safety and quality, and drive client satisfaction across strategic projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience in design engineering, including 3+ years managing engineering projects. Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Demonstrated success in project management and proven ability to develop business and establish client relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of applying broad knowledge to assignments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence, lead and manage change.
• Strong experience in contract terms negotiation and understanding of contract structuring.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of multi-discipline design/build projects from concept to completion.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Serve as primary client contact for coordination, budget, staffing, compliance and schedule attainment.
• Identify opportunities and manage submittals, proposals, and contract negotiations.
• Provide mentorship and training for project team and performance feedback.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field

7+ years of related experience in design engineering

Demonstrated success in project management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to influence, lead and manage change

Strong negotiation and contract terms experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
