Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks a Commercial Project Manager to lead multi-discipline teams from concept through completion on varied projects (Design, Design-Build, EPC, Construction Management). Responsibilities include safety, quality, cost control, contracts, and client relations, with a focus on timely, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and ~7 years of project experience across aviation, commercial, energy, government, or manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program.
• 7 years of applicable experience on construction projects or program management preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment and work overtime on short notice.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance of all aspects of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion, including safety, quality, procurement, construction, and project controls.
• Establish project teams, coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, and ensure efficient utilization of staff.
• Manage all aspects of project communication and client relations/management.
• Lead RFP package development, bid and selection process, and scope of work documents.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, control scope, and manage costs.
• Negotiate contracts, change orders, and subcontracting; monitor project risks and remedies.
• Prepare and review cost forecasts, accruals, and project reporting for clients and leadership.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence and compliance with safety policies.
