Job summary
Xcel Energy Inc. is seeking a Staff/Staff-Engineered level DER Engineer to provide leadership in planning, design, integration, and deployment of distributed energy resources across its distribution system.
You will focus on DER interconnection, power systems, and grid modernization while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable integration of new grid technologies. You will drive DER interconnection studies, support BESS and microgrid deployments, and collaborate with
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited).
- Experience in DER interconnection, power systems analysis, and grid modernization.
- Familiarity with energy storage, microgrids, and distribution planning.
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead DER interconnection studies and power system analyses.
- Assist distribution planning and grid modernization initiatives.
- Lead implementation of BESS, microgrid, and DER projects.
- Support SCADA, DERMS, ADMS, and related controls integrations.
- Coordinate with project managers and external stakeholders to deliver projects.
