Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a senior leader in Distribution Engineering to drive DER integration across service territories, ensuring safe, reliable operation of the distribution grid. You will coordinate with regulators, customers, and internal teams to implement policies that support the company’s DER strategy.

You will oversee staff leadership, budget development, and performance monitoring, aligning activities with corporate objectives and safety standards while staying current with industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical engineering preferred) or related work experience.
• Seven years of distribution engineering and/or equivalent experience including a minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience.
• Prior utility regulatory experience. Experience with DER integration processes desired.

Responsibilities

• Directs the activities of the Distribution Engineering organization to manage DER integration across service territories ensuring safe and reliable distribution operation.
• Provides leadership and coordinates DER integration policies with stakeholders and regulators to align rules with strategic direction.
• Manages unit budgeting, planning, and performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
