Eversource Energy is seeking a Distribution System Planning Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership in planning, evaluating, and integrating distributed energy resources (DERs) into the electric distribution system. You will lead complex studies, develop solutions, and mentor junior engineers to support grid modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of relevant engineering experience in electric utility planning, power systems analysis, DER integration, distribution engineering, or a related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required; advanced degree is preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain distribution system power flow models to evaluate DER interconnection and impacts on the distribution system.
• Assess proposed DER interconnections and ISO-NE impacts; prepare interconnection documentation.
• Conduct complex engineering studies and develop planning-level solutions and recommendations.
• Apply industry standards and company criteria with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to identify planning needs and proposed plans.
• Prepare high-level construction cost estimates and support project approvals; present at monthly reviews.
• Develop and maintain Special Operating Guidelines for DER operations.
• Monitor technologies, industry practices, and regulatory developments related to DER integration and grid modernization.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
