Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company, seeks a Distribution Planning Engineer to advance DER/DG integration studies and grid modernization efforts. You will model distribution systems, coordinate with teams, and support client discussions to deliver high-quality engineering deliverables.

With 5+ years in power distribution planning and experience in CYME/Synergi, you will help develop hosting capacity assessments, coordinate across disciplines, and mentor junior engineers while travel up to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
~5+ years of experience in electric utility or distribution planning.
Experience with distribution modeling and engineering analysis tools (CYME, Synergi, ASPEN, WindMil).
Experience supporting DER/DG interconnection or planning studies (feasibility, system impact).
Ability to travel up to 5% to support clients and projects.
FE/EIT (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

Perform DER/DG interconnection and distribution planning studies (hosting capacity, power flow, voltage analysis, protection coordination).
Evaluate DER impacts (solar, storage, EVs) and identify system constraints and mitigation strategies.
Develop and maintain distribution system models using CYME, Synergi, or similar tools.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support integrated planning efforts.
Support client-facing project work and review studies.
Contribute to quality and consistency of engineering deliverables.
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
