The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Senior Dental Receptionist provides administrative and front-desk support to assigned clinical providers and the dental clinic area. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, assisting patients, processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and performing related administrative functions.

Responsibilities
  • Complete patient check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Will review and discuss treatment plans with patients, posting payments and verify financial data in EPIC.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and review billing and collection information in EPIC.
  • Schedule patient appointments and process scheduling requests, including schedule adjustments, active requests, and referrals in EPIC.
  • Provide patient reception, registration, and assist with responding to patient inquiries.
  • Run and review daily scheduling reports and correct routine updates as needed.
  • Enter and verify patient demographic and financial information in EPIC.
  • Complete patient reimbursement insurance forms.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, students, faculty, and clinical providers.
  • Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years (2) of college or completion of secretarial school or equivalent business experience plus a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is desirable. Experience handling payments and computer data entry Bilingual - English and Spanish skills a plus.
Other Requirements
  • Knowledge of clinic computerized scheduling/chart/billing system.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and other sensitive information.
  • Must abide by "Principles of Behavior."
  • Must be extremely personable and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must also exhibit strong follow-through, establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and faculty, and maintain confidentiality of protected health and sensitive information.
