Job summary

UCSF Health Dental Center is seeking a Senior Collections Representative to support the revenue cycle, including claim submission, AR, denials, patient inquiries, and process improvement. The role emphasizes accurate documentation and timely follow-ups within a dynamic dental billing environment.

The incumbent will collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Director and clinic managers to resolve trends, while ensuring compliant, thorough collections of professional fees for the Dental Center.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of previous Insurance Follow up experience.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively (orally and written).
• Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor staff for optimal results.
• Knowledge of Epic/Peoplesoft or related ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process paper and electronic claim forms for payors to ensure clean claims.
• Review and resolve billing correspondence and denial codes.
• Follow up on accounts receivable and reprocess claims as needed.
• Enter detailed account notes to maintain audit trails.
• Review EOBs and apply denial and payment codes for timely resolution.
• Draft appeals letters to payors and coordinate with collection vendors.
