Job summary

Hightstown Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to oversee the organization and daily operation of our clinical back office. This hands-on leadership role requires initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to train staff, delegate tasks, and maintain high standards to keep the schedule running smoothly.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, and the ideal candidate will anticipate needs, manage inventory, and ensure a clean, ready-to-treat environment.

Qualifications

• Must have experience leading a dental assisting team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to delegate, train staff and monitor performance.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organize the dental assisting team by delegating responsibilities, training staff, maintaining consistent standards, and following up to ensure duties are completed properly.
• Identify and resolve routine back-office problems proactively and communicate concerns to management.
• Maintain an organized, clean, stocked, and treatment-ready clinical environment including operatories and lab areas.
• Ensure rooms and materials are prepared before they are needed to keep the schedule on track.
• Oversee clinical inventory, sterilization, equipment maintenance, and repairs while minimizing shortages and downtime.
• Remain an active chairside assistant who anticipates the dentist's needs and supports efficient patient flow.
