Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Station Leader for Amazon Logistics Delivery Station operations within a 50-mile radius of the DC area. You will oversee safety, quality, performance, and people development across the station, while driving lean initiatives and strategic improvements 24/7.

You will recruit and coach Ops Managers, analyze metrics, manage DSP relationships, and partner with Finance, HR, IT, and other functions to meet business goals and build leadership bench strength across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years’ direct management experience in logistics, fulfillment, last-mile manufacturing, engineering, production or distribution.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering performance and financial results in high pressure environments.
• Experience with performance metrics and lean techniques.
• Experience with full lifecycle staffing, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations.
• Strong analytical capability; track record of digging into data and finding solutions.
• Excellent communication skills (including local language and English, written and verbal).
• Experience managing third party resources on a regional/national scale.
• Experience managing contingent workforce in a business with peak seasons.
• Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, customer experience and people development for all delivery station operations.
• Drives vision for station team and creation of quality initiatives and lean initiatives to meet business plans.
• Problem-solves gaps between performance and goals.
• Set and clarify requirements for Operations, Area and Shift Managers; measure performance and provide feedback.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs).
• Present operational metrics regularly to the senior leadership team.
• Hires and develops top talent; create a talent plan including acquisition, performance and career management.
