Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Program Manager in Frederick, MD to lead and direct the daily execution of contract requirements, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance goals are met.

You will coordinate with engineering and other departments, lead meetings from kickoff to close, and participate in bid/proposal activities. The role emphasizes risk management, earned value, and strong customer interface capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevent program mgmt experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or Business degree may be preferred.
• Knowledge of program management tools and procedures.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Exposure to earned value cost accounting and reporting.
• Strong customer interface skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• PM certification preferred (PMP/DAU).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily execution of contract requirements to assure cost, schedules and performance goals are met.
• Lead all meetings and the integrated product team from kick-off through project close.
• Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to existing contracts.
• Participate as a team member or leader on bid and proposal activities; ensure RFP requirements are met in bids/proposals.
• Actively seek new business opportunities in coordination with Business Development.
• Represent management at program reviews and seminars.
• Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations; ensure regulatory guidance is adhered to.
• Develop plans and schedules; allocate and control budgets; report program status to senior management.
• Identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle.
• May collaborate on various tasks with project teams and Engineering changes.
• Notify senior management for schedule/budget deviations; implement corrective actions.
• Perform variance analysis of schedule and cost; present to senior management.
• Coordinate with Contracts Administration on contract issues.
