Job summary

CACI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (T3) in Melbourne, FL to lead design, analysis, integration, and testing of complex mechanical systems for defense and aerospace. You will drive hardware from concept through prototype, qualification, and production, collaborating with IPTs across systems, electrical, thermal, and manufacturing engineering.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (ABET‑accredited) and 5–8+ years of relevant experience, with CAD

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5 to 8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in aerospace/defense/government contracting.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3D modeling, layout, and drafting of mechanical components and ruggedized packaging using CAD software.
• Conduct structural, thermal, dynamic, and environmental analyses to validate designs per MIL‑STD standards.
• Direct designs through SRR, PDR, and CDR reviews.
• Create and review drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Plan qualification and acceptance testing, specify fixtures, and lead testing.
• Coordinate with internal shops and external suppliers for parts and non‑conformances.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure LRIP to production transition.
