Job summary

CACI in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a junior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to mobile/transportable shelter systems. You will develop designs, perform analyses, create drawings, and write test procedures in a collaborative team environment.

Required is a BS/MS in mechanical engineering with 0–3 years of DoD or federal experience, active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in mechanical engineering.
• 0–3 years of DoD or federal mechanical engineering experience.
• Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or equivalent, and MS Office.
• Experience with transitioning designs to fabrication.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis.
• Strong technical writing and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Defines and develops new mobile/transportable shelter system designs.
• Identifies subsystems including structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, HVAC, and power.
• Develops mechanical design solutions within existing hardware constraints.
• Creates system specifications and ensures mechanical interface compatibility.
• Analyzes and resolves design compatibility issues.
• Coordinates mechanical system design for system-of-systems integration.
• Documents requirements, testing, and verification plans.
• Performs site surveys and engineering assessments.
• Develops drawings, user guides, test plans, and maintenance manuals.
• Participates in quality inspections and team-based work.
