Job summary

Technology Service Corporation Defense Services in Washington, DC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead full-lifecycle design of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for communications hardware. The role requires hands-on development, prototyping, testing, and on-site collaboration.

You will create 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation, perform tolerance analyses, and support manufacturing and integration with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of proven mechanical design and product development experience.
• Full-lifecycle engineering experience from concept to sustainment.
• Experience creating technical drawings, specifications and analyses.
• Hands-on fabrication, assembly and testing of complex mechanical systems.
• Strong materials, machining, tolerance, and manufacturing methods knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and components.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Run tolerance analyses and design-for-manufacturability assessments.
• Develop and execute test plans; prototype, test and troubleshoot.
• Integrate new systems into existing platforms and coordinate with teams.
